So, here we are. Sunday 10th October 2010.

I've finally decided that I need to join the 21st century and create a blog where I can communicate some of my ideas and allow people to make comments.

I've got a whole load of things I want to talk about - my only problem is finding the time to do it.

This weekend, for example, I have being sending letters to a whole group of key players in the French CNRS (Centre National de Recherche Scientifique) defending interdisciplinary research. I've always been a passionate advocate of interdisciplinarity, and would modestly like to be able to claim that I've been doing some myself for many years.
